2022 EF Global Leadership Summit
Theme: The Impact of Sports and Wellness
Each year, EF Tours hosts hundreds of high-school students in Berlin, Germany for an educational conference. Before the event, we created EF Summit-branded physical and digital collateral and developed a pre-production plan for the content we’d capture while we were there.
We returned home with organic social content, customer interviews and testimonials, blog features, and video profiles. These not only told the story of EF Summits and highlighted the experts we partner with, but also generated excitement for new and returning teachers to bring their students in the future.

Q&A: Sam Kass on changing the world through food and travel
Meet one of our most recent EF Global Leadership Summit speakers, Sam Kass, who has dedicated his entire career to educating the public on nutrition and sustainable food systems.
From Chicago to Vienna to Washington, D.C. and beyond, Sam’s worked all over the world and worn many different hats along the way. A curiosity for cooking led him to starting his own personal chef business. Later he became the Executive Director of the “Let’s Move!” campaign, a national public awareness effort to improve children’s health, as well as the White House Policy Advisor for Nutrition under the Obama administration. Currently, he’s a partner in Acre Venture Partners, which invests in startups that use climate- and food-based solutions to solve the world’s problems, and a co-founder of Spring, a company working to transform agriculture and food products for the better.

Crushing design thinking challenges at the 2022 EF Summit
When an ambitious group of eight high schoolers met for the first time on Friday, July 8, 2022, they had no idea that by Sunday, they’d have created an innovative, winning prototype designed to help people manage dietary concerns. How did they accomplish this? Well, that’s part of the magic of an EF Global Leadership Summit.
EF Summits combine an EF tour with a three-day leadership conference, all designed to help students create big ideas to solve some of the world’s biggest issues through design thinking challenges. This year, the focus was on sports and wellness, and the winning team (Alejandro P., Augden T., Ariana G., Sarah P., Shaun J., George P., Nikolas F., and Jessica C.)—along with 800 other students—spent the weekend in Berlin, Germany. There, they ideated around global health and wellness issues and learned from thought leaders and industry disrupters.

Student empowerment and why young voices matter at EF’s 2022 Summit
Part of what makes an EF Global Leadership Summit so special is the weekend’s Student Empowerment Panel. Attendees hear from peers who have made incredible accomplishments.
EF Summits combine a week-long educational tour with a global leadership conference. In July 2022, students from all over the world came together in Berlin, Germany to celebrate this year’s theme: The Impact of Sports & Wellness. They heard from industry-disrupting thought leaders, formed global connections, and tried their own hand at solving some of the world’s most pressing problems through design thinking challenges.
And at the Student Empowerment Panel, Alana Andrews and Kritika Singh discussed pivotal moments that sparked their passions, how small decisions today can turn into meaningful impact tomorrow, and the importance of young voices and minds in shaping our future. Watch the video below for highlights. ⚠️ Warning, serious inspiration fuel ahead ⚠️
